Janel & Joel were friends of mine who had never been photographed nude before. They loved the work I was doing, which I was so flattered by, and wanted to work on creating something similar together to celebrate their relationship. They were both pretty nervous at first, but quickly leaned into the experience and got comfortable with the process quickly. It was fun and experimental, as at the time I was very new to photographing couples. These photos were taken in 2021, and since then I have also photographed their wedding and Janel’s pregnancy. It has been an absolute honour to know them, witness their story, and to capture the transitory moments that have made up their lives.
